The Food Bank of Central Louisiana is recruiting service-minded individuals to serve in our new AmeriCorps program. Members will have an opportunity to get experience in many aspects of food banking as they assist with Mobile Pantries on the road, pack food for distributions, manage client relationships and provide community referrals.
At the Food Bank, AmeriCorps members commit to serving with us for one year, at least 1700 hours, helping to put food on the table for families in need across Central Louisiana. In return, Members receive a modest living allowance, skills training and professional development, student loan deferment, and they have the option to enroll in health insurance. At the end of the service year, members earn an Educational Award that may be used for tuition or student loans; as well as connections to employer networks across the US.
