That sounds so simple. After a visit to Lessie Moore Elementary School in Pineville, Louisiana, it is easier said than done. A lot of hard work and planning goes into planting a garden. The Good Food Project has an extraordinary opportunity to guide children toward healthier lifestyles by creating a healthy nutrition environment. Nutrition is a critical building block for student success. Active, healthy, and well nourished children are more apt to attend school and are more prepared and inspired to learn. Children plant seeds and sample healthy food grown from those seeds. Lifelong skills that will sustain these children growing their own food; preparing their own food; and having fun doing both--are a pledge of this program. Come watch us grow!
