Kids say the darnest things
We at the Good Food Bank encourage children to help cook. When children help with cooking something they helped grow, it is amazing how much they love their new found food. Recently, The Good Food Project was visiting the Hope House and helping children and their mothers prepare a meal from the garden and things just happen. The little girl said," Now look what you did, you made me like vegetables".
That is what we call creating a culture of health in Central Louisiana. Transfer of learning occurs when children watch what and how we work in the garden and then take that fresh produce to the kitchen. The Good Food Project works to connect children with healthier food options, healthier behaviors, and improved health outcomes.
