School gardens provide fresh produce for a school district

Two great examples of how school gardens can provide fresh produce for a school district. Ag students at Pitkin High were growing lettuce in their school garden in January. The students planted and maintained the lettuce. GFP attended a presentation about Rayville High School's hydroponics program at the LaSalle Parish Garden club earlier in the week. Rayville High, under the leadership of Roy Gresham, supplies all the beautiful lettuce and tomatoes seen in the photo for all the Richland schools. Now that is something to think about!
