Why Build Raised Garden Beds

April 11, 2013

Raised beds are quite easy to build and a lot easier on your back and knees.  You can eliminate a lot of hard work if you use raised beds and high quality top soil for growing your plants.  With raised beds you have more control over the location of your garden and the ability to choose the best soil for your particular plants.  Raised garden beds have more efficient draining and are easier to keep out weeds.  The soil warms up earlier in a raised bed, so you can plant earlier and extend your growing season.  Raised beds also have a better ability to keep out ground- dwelling pests.
