Reap the Benefits of Mother Nature

Water is our most precious natural resource and something that most of us take for granted. Rainwater harvesting is an effective, sustainable water conservation tool that has been used for thousands of years. And it’s free! Rainwater harvesting is the capturing and storing of rainfall that can be used to irrigate plants. It can help you save money on monthly water bills, reduce your dependence on municipally-supplied water, and offer your garden rich, vital nutrients free of chlorine, fluoride, and other minerals added to municipal water. To catch and store rainwater simply place a container (55-gallon steel drum, oak barrel, underground storage tank, clean garbage can) underneath your rain gutters, pipes, or any other catchment on your property like a roof, patio, or driveway. After you’ve placed your containers in the right areas, sit back and wait for the rain. A water surplus available at the right time of year makes storage well worth the time and effort. Once you’ve collected enough rainwater, spread the love to your garden. You’ll both be able to reap the benefits.
